'Fractured' is a painting of an imagined landscape that appears 'fractured'. Either a stormy sea fractured by waves, or a fractured mountain range - the painting's abstract style gives an ambiguity to the finished image.

About the artist:

Jane Davies is a multidisciplinary artist taking inspiration from the world around her - in particular the shapes and textures of the natural world. Jane learned silkscreen printing and mixed-media printmaking alongside drawing and painting at Central St Martins, part of the University of the Arts London. It is with the skills obtained in her studies that Jane thrives in experimenting with drawing, painting and a multitude of other media.

Jane started working in a monochrome colour palette, mainly mixed media prints of abstract landscapes which she created whilst at the London Print Studio. A move to rural Dorset has coincided with a new found love of colour, and simple pop art prints of the natural world now feature alongside oil paintings of Dorset's Jurassic coastline which provides inspiration all year round.

Jane's passion allows her to continuously experiment with art-making techniques that enables her practice to evolve and grow new ideas.
