Artist statement:
I am an artist and printmaker taking inspiration from the world around me - in particular the shapes and textures of the natural world.
My creative work celebrates Dorset’s unique natural habitat - from the huge variety of plant and flower species, trees, rolling chalk cliffs and ever-changing seas - the Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site which provides inspiration all year round.
I always try and use sustainable methods in my practice and collaborate with local artists, printmakers, practitioners and suppliers to limit my carbon footprint and support the local creative economy. Through my practices, I hope to inspire people to learn more about this beautiful part of the world.

My medium:
I have always loved drawing and painting, and I continue to develop my painting practice working predominantly in oil paints, although I enjoy experimenting with different types of paint and materials such as charcoals as well. My subjects are usually landscapes and trying to capture and interpret the ever-changing nature of the sea.
I also started silk-screen printing in 2010 and I spent ten years working out of the London Print Studio before moving to Dorset where I print out of the Print Room Studio at Walford Mill, Wimborne.
I have always tried to experiment and develop my creative skills, as well as silkscreen printing, I have also worked with etching and more recently, with cyanotype printmaking and collage - the latter I learned when working at the kitchen table with paper and scissors rather than my studio due the arrival of a new puppy!
I am also interested in antique botanical art and I source pre-1900 botanical prints and juxtapose these prints alongside my contemporary work.
